200 sometime in the October time frame.

A logical proposal has already been put forth by American to offset the need for furloughs. Maybe the pilot group should take this seriously, as there might not be an American Airlines next year.

Are you for real?

Moving 200 pilots off the top of the list (instead of the bottom) is a cost benefit to the company. Increasing average line value makes room for the company to furlough more. Absent any furlough language this abortion is a craven sop to management.

If you can't see this for what it is, you need to have others make important decisions for you.

Ha-ha, that was a good one.
Either you are joking... or just dense...

That proposal is a turd and dead on arrival.

Could you get any more "general" of a statement???

The whole proposal was "general"--full of "in the event of" and "should" and "in the area of". Total corporate bullcrap!

Frankly, I may get laid off yet again but this offer so insulted my intelligence that I would be incensed if the union considered it for more than a nanosecond. TC

You are either completely ignorant of the facts or are a management shill.

The ridiculous proposal put forth by the company will in no way prevent furloughs. The wording of the proposal only ensures that pilots must work greatly increased hours. The furlough mitigation language does not, in any way, ensure that furloughs will not occur. In fact, it will increase them. Further, even should AA go bankrupt, it will continue on.
