Congrats to you TW(AA) F/A's. Not sure why you would want to come back at 60+ age and be on reserve in LGA/EWR/JFK for the rest of your career but you will get the opportunity to soon find out.

Age matters not. They will bring class, style, and professionalism back that is sorely lacking in this industry right now.

Sweet! Only 1500 more until I get my letter!

Oh, wait, there's no way that's gonna happen before 15OCT07 when my 5 years are up......... Bye bye 7 years with AMR!

A sincere congrats to the recievers of letters in this batch.

Everyone can help the rest of the furlougees

If you think it is wrong that the post-9/11 furloughees should fall of the recall list, and no longer have the CHOICE to return to their previous job, then contact your senator and representative and support Senator McCaskill's Bill S.1992.

ELECTRONIC AND TELE-LOBBYING
**************

When telephoning a Senators office, ask to speak to a
LEGISLATIVE AID handling aviation issues. Please make
it clear that Senator McCaskill's Bill S.1992 will
remedy the situation for ALL airline workers.
S. 1992 provides an extension of recall rights for
those airline employees who were furloughed from U.S.
air carriers after 9/11 when the carriers received
more than $100 MILLION in U. S. Government
compensation because of the closure of the nation's
air transportation system.

It doesn't intrude on any union's Collective
Bargaining Agreement (CBA). It does not require any
union to alter or change their current contract
language. It only applies to the airline industry.
Here is a draft letter to use in contacting your
Senators.

************************************************************************
Dear Senator,

I am writing to urge you to support bill S. 1992 sponsored by Senator McCaskill, which would extend the "recall rights" of furloughed airline employees for ten years.

Because of the horrific attacks committed, by terrorists, on our country on September 11, 2001, many airline workers that served their carriers for 20 to 40 years have not been recalled to their jobs. Thousands more have been terminated as their recall rights have expired and thousands more will face the same fate unless you act. Many of these airline workers who are without jobs, pensions, health insurance have exhausted their life savings, IRAs and 401-k's. These loyal airline workers should not become collateral damage of the terrorists.

Immediately following 9/11, the airline industry received a government bailout in the form of cash payments and loan guarantees, costing U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars. Since then, airline management has paid hundreds of millions of dollars in executive bonuses. We have also become economic victims of excessive executive compensation.

Senator McCaskill's Bill S.1992 will remedy the situation for all airline workers and only provides an extension to the recall rights for those certain airline employees who were furloughed from air carriers (post 9/11) and whose respective carrier received U. S. Government compensation for closure of the nation's air transportation system.

It only grants an extension to certain groups of employees under very narrow and period certain circumstances. It does not impinge on any one unions collective bargaining agreement, nor, does it alter or in any other way change their current language. It only applies to the airline industry.

I urge you to Co-Sponsor and support S.1992. The Organizations named below representing millions of their combined members and your constituencies have committed their support to this bill. Your Co-sponsorship and support of S.1992 will save thousands of jobs and pensions and provide protection to the U.S. aviation workforce in the event of future attacks.

Sincerely,
