Whats the story on the Super 80 thats parked on the west side of the airport near the american hangars?? it looks like its coated in a bronze type paint?? anyone ?

PARKED PLANE

Im not sure what the story is. Ive seen it parked there since about thanksgiving. One day i saw a deice truck over there and i thought they were going to wash it. Today i looked at it and nothing new. I asked someone at AA and they didnt know.

That's the Fokker 100 that had the right main gear break off on landing about a year ago. It was damaged severely enough that the insurance company wrote it off, and now it's used for training deice crews. The orange tint is Type I deice fluid residue.

The plane has been stripped of all its useful parts. If you look closely, you'll see that the engines and horizontal stabilizer have been removed.
