Does anyone know a good number to call to check loads on American? I may need to jumpseat, and want to know if it is worth trying.

Thanks!

RR

Try calling AA res at an off peak time. Also, try going to an AA or Eagle counter next time you're at the airport. Most of the agents will be happy to help (if there is no line).

I never really ever had a problem. Just make sure they list you as a D-6 in the computer or the gate agents won't be able to find you. Make sure you write down your record locator.

Best way to check loads is on the website aa.com. If you point to reservations a submenu will pop open and you can select VIEW AVAILABLE SEATS. This takes you to a submenu where you plug in the flight #, the date, and the depature city. Then it shows you a map from saab to 777 that allows you to tell how many seats are left. The only think you don't know is how many non revs. If you call res they won't tell you exactly how many seats are left. Most likely all they will tell you if availablity is good, marginal, or oversold.
