AA Jumpseat Procedures

It's been many, many years since I have jumped on AA, how is it accomplished these days? Do you need to call, website, or show up at counter? Any info is greatly appreciated!!

You normally have to list thru ifc.id90.com. Gate agents are not very willing to list you, and some of the newer ones claim they don't know how to do it. Takes a few minutes, but its worth it.

If you can't get online, you can list within 24 hours of a flight by calling (888) we-fly-aa.

Recently, the agents at LAX have been very short on patience.

"Just cause you meal listed, doesn't mean you are listed for the flight. Please go to customer service and get put on the standby list. I don't have the time to do it for you!"

That was said to me week prior to X mas at LAX 55 min prior to departure time. I had already listed via ID90 and jump frequently. She wasn't the first to tell me this. The customer service center is hit or miss for a huge line. If you have the time, best to get there way early, go complete your ID90 listing at the CS desk, then at the gate your name will already be on the stby list.

I just did it today. I listed on the ID 90 site in a previous post. I went to the kiosk at the airport put my PNE # in and it printed me off a document to go to the ticket counter. I went to the ticket counter and they verified me in CASS and wanted to see my both my pilot and medical certificates along with my passport. After that I went through security to the gate agent and they had to do something else on the computer. Pretty easy, just a couple of extra steps more than SWA requires. I took chocolate and gave it to each person I spoke with including the FA's and all were very friendly.

Hey guys, my apologies for the behavior you receive from AA gate agents. All AA/Eagle pilots list through the company non-rev site, so we have fewer exchanges with the agents. Still, I am treated respectfully most of the time jumping with other carriers, so there is really no excuse for their behavior.
