I pretty sure American Airlines will take offline jumpseaters from JFK to London (please correct me if I’m wrong), but will they allow offline jumpseaters to return from London to JFK?

Once you are out of the country its a whole other ball game. Leaving from the US on AA is pretty much impossible unless you are on there Intl Jump list. If you dont work for a major chances are you are not on the list.
 
Inernational Jumpseats are limited to the following: CO & Express, US, UA, DL, NW, AS, ALC, PIE, SW and FedEX
