I would rent an apartment, or stay at a B&B....thats what I always do...Most of the hotels are out dated and expensive. Your Hiltons etc... start at 200+ a night.

PM me and I'll give ya the full scoop on BA.

You forgot to ask about UA.
But why would you need to know that kind of information?

We stay at the "Cafe Orleans"

Also "Club Black"

Planning a trip there and looking for a bargain. I have had good luck staying at other crew hotels in the past (DL hotel in Lima $50, CO hotel in Quito $39, NW hotel in Beijing $79, etc.), and so I always start by checking out the crew hotels. You know they're good, and often you can catch a ride with the crew in one direction or the other.

I understand that people are reluctant to post the info on a public message board, so I am more than willing to prove my legitimacy somehow by email/phone/whatever.

I keep forgetting about UA because I never non-rev on them. I can buy ZED passes on DL, CO, AA, US, etc., but UA is outrageous to non-rev on. (I jumpseat on UA when I am alone and I am very appreciative for the international rides, but most "vacations" are with my 4 year old son, so jumpseating is out of the question.)

I guess I should ask where FDX and UPS stay, too.

UA stays in the Hilton, and it goes 250+ per night. If you want something cheap in a decent downtown are try Expedia or Orbitz. Almost all hotels in the downtown/Puerto Madero area are decent but I doubt you will find anything for less than 90 bucks or so. If you are willing to go to the suburbs then I can get you the name of a couple of cheaper hotels but you will have to take a train ride to go downtown (20 mins). Also you might want to try a bed and breakfast.

I don't think you'll find a hotel for less that $100, BA is becoming very expensive. Any hotel in the downtown area will be ok, I wouldn't recomend anything in the suburbs, not because they are bad but because the commute might be dangerous or imposible, and the prices are not any different than the ones from downtown. There are transportation strikes almost every day and you don't want to be stuck in your hotel in the suburbs, a taxi to downtown might go for $50 or more depending how much they decide to charge that day.
Downtown you have subways and busses that will get you absolutly everywhere, try to stay away from taxis.
Enjoy the food, it's great.
