Anyone hear anymore about the S-80 that blew an engine on climbout after tagging a flock of geese?
 
No I haven't. BTW, how does the -80 do on single engine performane at MGOW? I was riding in one out of LAS to SEA last week and let me tell you I sure wouldn't want to be in it with it blowing an engine on takeoff! It just doesn't feel like it has the power to keep flying when all you see is people and I'm sure tons of bags down below......how is it?

All went well. The local news has pax praising the flight crew. The write-up in the logbook (no, I wasn't there; we can access them electronically) said the fire light came on, no rotation and the first bottle didn't put it out. The second did.

Thanks guys for making us all look good and saving the company!

they had heavy coverage on the local news here in chicago all last night. appears it may have been multiple geese injested, the engine appears to have caught fire and had some level of uncontained failure with small parts falling in several neighborhoods. it was a low level loss too... they said 100 feet or less when they took the strike.

What's an engine failure on Take-off worth?

I wonder how much those pax think their pilots were worth on that flight or how safe their retirement should be?

Actually, maybe we shouldn't pursue that line of thinking...otherwise we could end up all with low hourly rates, with a disruption pay premium based on the severity of a specific instance of emergency, with a comensurate 401K matching multiplier.

Remember, pilots are all just a bunch of overpaid, underworked babies.
 
The flying public could care less about pilot retirement. Chances are they don't have one so why should they give a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**.
