Smart arse PAX: "He landed on only one wheel - THE PILOTS MUST BE DRUNK!!!! *complain*Bitch*moan*gripe* "

btw.. why is "Da.mn" censored but not "BITCH" ?

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm???

You virtually never ever use autoland VFR because you have to tell the tower to keep people behind the ILS hold short which makes you look like a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**. Also there are crosswind limits for autoland.

55 hours huh ? The Air Force is looking for a few good men.

I love hearing comments like those from fellow-pax. Isn't there a line out there about opening your mouth and proving you're a dumbass? Anyone got that one?

I think my personal favorite was after a flight in pretty decent turbulence (nothing MAJOR just constantly decenty bumps the whole flight...what ya gonna do, ya know?), "Did you feel that air pocket we hit? We must have dropped at least 10,000 feet in a tenth of a second".

Take what the uninformed say/think for what it's worth.

It's amazing how people that know nothing about flying are experts on the subject. I actually asked a family member if she would endorse my logbook for the training she was providing since obviously she knew so much that she was an instructor...boy did that piss her off...oh well.

Ignorance is bliss...

I guess I should say it was my Uncle who said that. He just retired from the 747-400 on United. He told me thats all he would use, hand flying woul;d make them sick in the back.

The real question is this: What kind of loser sits near the airport and takes video of planes landing?

I have never...

;)

Perhaps a "loser" who was medically unable to fly, but still has the dream, unlike yourself.

In today's politically unsettled environment, I would think twice about video taping anything near an airport. At the least, expect a visit from Mr. Police man.

eh, I've taken photos and video at airports, always kept my ID within easy reach. No one ever bothers me.

Where are all of the videos of Cessna's, Diamond's, Piper's, etc stored? Man, I can't wait to see some of those landings!

Do you people seriously spend time taping airliners landing? What, are you hoping to get excusive footage of a crash? Get a Life!!!!

Brother, I'm in aviation because I love airlanes and enjoy slipping the surly bonds of earth. I ALWAYS look up when I hear airplane noise, even helo noise :D , but I don't spend time video-ing other peoples flights.

FWIW, I'm in aviation for Love. I'm a professional Pilot for MONEY, you're darned right.

You must be related to UnAnswred.

Your uncle must either be a horrible pilot or must have Parkinsons if his hand flying the plane resulted in almost 400 sick souls on board!

If its the latter, please forgive me for insulting your shakey uncle and his disability.

Back to the original question...LGA rw 31 does not have an ILS ( Localizer only ) so there can be no autoland. Autoland requires both LOC and GS

Then you must at least understand what could drive someone to go watch planes... and maybe even video them?
