What do the die hard Red Sox fans think of this trade to be?

Do you think this is the key to a World Series win?

Personally, I think it's a bad trade.

I agree,
The net production of those two guys leaving does not add up to A-rods numbers. You are losing about 100 RBIs and 20 homers a year. Now we have much better pitching but still its NOMAR. How can you let a guy with a perfect Boston name like
NOOMAHH leave this TOWN COME ON THEO!!!!!!!

But if its bring us a title I dont know what I would do with myself.

By the way
How about those Pats.

D

How about Mueller to second and either AROD or Nomar to Third? I know it won't happen. The problem is they don't want to pay the MLB luxury tax which kicks in at $120 million. Sending Nomar out west will keep them under that tax once they sign a 2nd baseman, keeping Mueller at 3rd. I'm still in shock that they're going to get rid of Nomar........

Pats still aren't getting any respect!!

I heard it on sports a little while ago. Obviously, the Sox are looking for an edge over the Yankees, but I don't see this deal as such. I don't follow baseball all that closely, even with or because of our intrepid Colorado Rockies, but it makes no sense. It would seem that the Yankees would be losing some edge because of Roger's retirement and Wells' departure.

All right, we made it one out from the World Series last yr. This yr we've added a number one starter to go with Pedro and the number one closer in the American league. I see no reason why we need to make whole sale changes not only on the field but in the club house. We would have to get something really good for Nomar to make this work and the last thing I heard was that the prospects we get for him (Dodgers) were then going to be sent to the Rangers in the Manny trade. This one just doesn't add up for me and I hope if falls by the way side. -Cape

BTW, the Pats look a lot like the team that one the Bowl a couple yrs ago, just better!!!!

What was the deal with releasing the punter, and then signing him again 2 days after the new guy had a great game...

PATS ALL THE WAY!!!

Listen to sports talk radio in Dallas and most people are against dealing A-Rod.

However, the Rangers (Hicks) have it figured out. They know the Metroplex sports fan will still come to The Temple to see a minor league caliber team in 95 degree heat on a beautiful summer evening. The sports fan will part with $75 for a couple of warm beers, hot dogs for the kids, and a funny green margarita for the trophy wife. They will see the fireworks go off and hear the theme from The Natural when Hank Blalock hits a dinger over the overly advertised left field wall. They will then head to their Chevy Suburban or Cadillac Escalade parked in the $8 space 1.5 miles from The Temple and realize that baseball is good.

For a similar scene in the NHL, see the Dallas Stars.

Baby arm.

The latest

Nomar to the White Sox for Ordonez, and then Ramirez to Texas for A-Rod.. Should be finalized today or tomorrow.

I'm stunned that Nomar will be no more. With his name he was born to spend his career here!! C'est la vie.

Jump Pilot, I may be misquoting but $75 plus $8 for a parking space is a deal in Boston. Try $275 for a family of four plus parking (minimum $25 for parking). It's $20 just for bleachers. Anything in the grandstand is $55 minimum.

Mr I:

Point well taken. I, however, would gladly spend that amount to see a Red Sox game.

Remember, the Rangers brought you:

Jose Canseco - then let him pitch and blow his elbow out

4 managers in one week in 1977

Duane James for Frank Tanana

Ned Yost for Jim Sunberg

Harold Baines, et al for Sammy Sosa

Cris Carpenter for Robb Nen

Steve Howe

Mitch Williams

I'll take the baby arm.
