At least the truth is coming out now....I will make about 112K this year and have my choice of schedules....That is worth defending......Using a spread sheet a mainline pilot gave me, I wouldn't do any better financially at CAL or DAL....The only carriers I would do better at between now and retirement are FedEx and UPS.....

We are a minority....but we have rights in this union also.....If the union doesn't want to acknowledge them then they can suffer the consequences......

It took a while to get you to admit what some of us already realize about this so called union.....The minority can be sacrificed.......

disregard

This is pathetic. A great thread about unity and a very successful event has been destroyed by Joe's usual anti-ALPA bullsh--. Take your crap elsewhere, John.

Do you really think you are impressing anyone on this board with your 112K salary? You have probably been there what 15 plus years? Heck a 5th year first at my airline will make more than that easilly and still be over 20 years younger than you. You are at the end of your journey and looking back, you don't like what you've seen. You have an opinion and it is valid to you and others in your position. Problem is, there is nothing you can do to change the prediciment you are in.

Funny thing is that you and I come from the same place and we probably see his point more than he knows. Nonetheless he wants to talk down to the only guys who are would be allies to some of his complaints. In the end, swimming upstream is self-defeating and a horrible waste of time and life.

Joe, what you want you know in your heart is unattainable yet you tirelessly beat your drum and throw yourself on this sword..... and at the end of the road, few will have noticed and nothing about your situation will be different.

Too late, I quoted you. You are immortalized like it or not :)

....well now the truth finally comes out....I am one of those regional "lifers".....Didn't plan on it....but timing wasn't right and the paradigm changed.....like any good pilot...when the destination weather goes down you procede to your alternate......simple enough junior?

So you got comfortable on the regional life style.... and 'choose' to stay put.....

in the last four years.... CAL, DAL, UAL, NWA, etc.. have been hiring...

maybe you are pathetic with your money and couldn't endure first year pay.... or you just created too many financial obligations (RJDC lawsuit) and can't take the cut..

Maybe you can't pass a major airline interview?

Maybe you pissed too many people off and pilots at the majors deemed you persona non grata...

Maybe too much energy was consumed in your silly lawsuit....

But the fact is..... opportunity was there....

you just choose not to take it... don't try and pass off to us... that the 'paradigm' changed.... what a pathetic excuse...

typical of you and your victim status.... so..now you are a paradigm victim too.....

. I suspect the "true unity" you speak of is merely you getting a bigger voice than your status deserves. You work for a contract carrier. Your contract is temporary in nature. ALPA cannot force DAL to keep you for life.

It simply doesn't work that way........but you already knew that, and thats what really has you all bent out of shape.

you got it!

See Joe... you got nothing... even the XJT guys don't care about your divisive ways...

Go get some more popcorn butterfingers... that is all you are good at... watching and eating...

Joe was a part of the RJDC coalition. He is pissed because he married a girl that was in managment and does not want to leave but yet wants to fly mainline jets at ASA. I heard from others Joe that you used to be a pretty cool guy...I wonder what happened....Dreams of a better management job maybe? How about this Joe. If you get what American would get to fly the Fokker 100 at your airline you can have more mainline jets. Plus youll also get my application. Until then people that support the whipsawing in this industry need to step aside and leave it for those who really care for those both at the regional and majors. At least we are "trying" to keep the majors a place for our younger peers to step up to and have fruitful careers.

Even in America.... there is more pilot opportunity in the US economy that anywhere else... and Joey still can't be happy.... he still screwed it up....

Hey.. Butterfingers.... put down the popcorn....

Perhaps you'd like to fly anywhere else in this global economy..... most of us couldn't get hired globally with caste systems and nepotism....

Then again.. you could probably get a contract job flying a Bus or Boeing.... here is your chance... go for it... be an expat.... go piss off the world... you'll never be happy until the entire planet is as miserable as you are....

Bingo! Joey's been pissing off mainline pilots on the ALPA National web boards for years. He even posted his anti-ALPA crap with his ALPA title in his signature while he was in office. There are plenty of people at the legacies that would work very hard to keep Joey out.

That means he is either stupid or indifferent.... take your pick.... or both....!!

If he is indifferent then it really doesn't matter what his circumstance is....

If he is stupid, then it must really stink to be him... I mean think about it..... to be Joe Merchant.... knowing that you can never progress based on the fact that your own lack of intellegence is holding you back....

.......there is a conflict of interest now between the various "interests"....The mainline should never have outsourced this flying in the first place.....but they did and now we have competing interests....

Your position does not mirror my interest.....therefor I do not support your position....If your position is that of ALPAs then I do not support ALPA.....

We will just have to agree to disagree.....and I will do everything possible to discredit a union that doesn't protect my interests.....simple enough junior?
Joe,
The amazing thing is, discrediting ALPA and getting rid of ALPA at ASA will do absolutely NOTHING to accomplish the goals you seek. You can't even tell me how an independent union at your carrier could even possibly survive. You bring up a lot of problems you have with ALPA, but until you actually propose ONE workable and acheivable solution, you are just complaining about the cards you are dealt.
