Hi Everyone,

My friend Kathy, the resume writer, just wrote me an email with a job opening for an A&P. She just figured that with some furloughed pilots out there needing a job, that maybe some of them might have an A&P license. Contact information is included in her email.

If there is a better site to post this on that deals directly with A&P's can you let me know?

Here is her email...

>>>Hi,

My brother, who is an IA, is looking for a full time A&P to help him in his business. He is swamped with work and needs to hire someone soon. I figured there might be a furloughed pilot that holds an A&P and needs a job for now. Can you put the word out and see if we can find someone?

Here are the qualifications:

Based in Chandler, Arizona (just outside Phoenix)
A&P License
At least 5 years of experience as an A&P
Will work on all Fixed Wing, Single & Multi reciprocating engine aircraft.
Work hours are 8-5 M-F
$15 an hour or greater, depending on experience
Will work under the supervision of an IA
No relocation pay

I really appreciate you passing this along. Anyone can contact me at [email protected] or 1-866-726-9052 if they are interested.

Thanks,
Kathy<<<

Goodness:

"At least 5 years of experience as an A&P
...
$15 an hour or greater, depending on experience"

I really, really hope that isn't average in that area. I made more than that my first A&P job--and that was for a real snake (it's OK, he runs a flight school :) )

That said, at least it's a job. I haven't decided whether the whole being around airplanes if you aren't flying them is worth it or not. Airplanes are fun and all, but having to be around them all the time and never getting to fly one is getting old...

pfffff

right now with everyone bitchin I figured a stable m-f job like this would be praised.

I think america needs to step back and be fortunate that we are able to get jobs like that:rolleyes:

Go to China right now and offer that same position and we'll see the bitchin really start
