Thats some funny stuff, thanks for the link. The commercial says it was made in the 80s but the music screams 70s.
 
first airplane ride ever was with republic (PHX-MKE) then some old beater prop job (maybe a DC-6, i remember the FA commenting the plane was older than my mom) from MKE-ORD in 1979 (I was 6).

looking back at the history, i didn't realize republic had just become republic in 1979 from the merger of north central and southern.

the duck logo was cool.

That "old beater prop job" would have been a Convair 580. It put a lot of food on the table for me.

Sure do miss those cv-580's. Maybe if Delta and NWA merge they will call it "Republic Airlines" not to be confused with RAH... Republic Airways Holdings.

That was supposed to be for AirTran/ Midwest a'la Southern/ North Central. Throw in Frontier then you would have the Hughes Air West component.
