As an Ex-Flight Attendant, I would say that his descriptions of all the delays, "the monkey suit" (what I used to call it too), the calculations regarding legality for duty and the "winding down" after flying all night were pretty accurate. I agree that it would have been more like a cold beer, but I think he was probably saving the public from thinking that we drink. (say it isn't so!

)
I have one of those Sharper Image Sound Soothers too. If you don't have one and have a hard time sleeping on overnights, I highly suggest purchasing one. Works like a charm - especially on the ocean sound. I slept like a baby with that thing - still have it.
I think he forgot to mention about whether he had an issue with pillows.

I don't know about anyone else, but that one thing made the difference between a good night of sleep or not.
There was one hotel that we stayed in at SFO that was the most comfortable of them all. Could have stayed there for weeks! It was right next to the water, you could see SFO and it was right near a Mexican restaurant. Can't remember the name...
I thought it was interesting too how he talked about hopefully liking the person he was flying with. That was a huge deal when being an FA also. If you didn't get along with someone, it was a LONG 4 day trip. The funniest thing though, and I am not sure if this happens in the cockpit, but you get some people that sit down next to you on the jumpseat and tell you their whole life story. The old jumpseat psychology. I think after that many years, I qualify for my PhD!
Ah, the memories...the good old days...
