What I meant was, that it the real world bad stuff happens , and people have to travel to the far reaches of this peaceful and kind planet and make badder stuff happen to the origional perpetrator of the bad stuff so he doesnt do it again.

This is the way it has always been and the way it will always be, no matter how enlightened we think we are.

But very necesary so guys like you can make sissy boy comments on the computer.

I say we might as well get a little enjoyment out of it if we can.

Guns

Interesting reading on the gun...As to a speed reduction, yes it does occur and it is noticable, and true the gun is USUALLY fired in short bursts, a longer 5-8 second burst will slow the plane at full throttle by almost 15knots..Had a friend who was a 'Hog Pilot' and he loved it when gunnery came up..He said when the gun fires it feels like your sitting on the worlds largest vibrator:laugh:

AWESOME. Hawgs rule.

As for recoil, here you go. 10,000 lbs of recoil force. This also has some interesting information on it. Scroll down to "recoil vs. forward thrust myth." I guess it measurably slows the jet down, but the engines are making nearly twice the thrust, and the gun is only fired in very short bursts.

Alright guys...I don't want to be killin' no-one, but i sure would love to get in one of those and take 'er for a spin around the patch. What an amazin' bird, and if there just happened to be a target range close by, well then squeezin' off a few rounds at some targets would be pretty cool as well.

"This society has not seen war with it's own eyes..."

A very true statement, but with all the goings on around the world, and with us sending our military to every far reaching corner of the world and stretching everything so thin here at home, believe me, it's comin', and I'm afraid that the results arent going to be anything to sensationalize in a video with a thumpin soundtrack.

Just to clarify, unless i missed it, this video entirely shows them blowing up stuff on a bombing range (the one IR strafe shot is not from a Hog). Not exactly watching Afghan arms and legs come off like some other vids floating around. Therefore, not entirely offensive.

As for the gun thing. I would like to hear from one single hog driver that can tell you what their dive angle and airspeed were on a high angle strafe pass then can give a synopsis of how long they pulled the trigger, and what their final airspeed loss was after said strafe. Kids, you're going DOWNHILL and thankfully picking up speed when strafing. The G-meter pegs both positive and negative on one pass with the gun due to all the vibration and there's no possible way anyone can tell you that you've lost airspeed due to the gun. Unless they're some sort of rocket scientist.

Oh, and thankfully it wasn't another lawndart video. Viva le HOG.

Those cluster bombs rock. Too bad they didn't build an A-10 with burners.
It's all about the GUN. And if they had burners, they'd run out of fuel as fast as the porkers. Kinda defeats the purpose of doing CAS.

I guess that being caught in the middle of two civil wars and getting shot out qualifies me for the "sissy boy" comments you obviously point in the direction of people willing to question the preponderance and availability of such videos over the internet.
Maybe I should contribute to this behavior then and dig up the plat cams that I brought back from the Kosovo operations and we can both laugh and drink beer while giggeling looking at people (and cows, yes) get blown up by guided bomb, missiles and lets not forget .50 cal rounds.

Sweet, sounds like a hoot. I will buy the beer you bring the entertainment. What .50 cal we talking about here though, the Ma deuce or the M82-A1, ah either way its still a good time.

Nice language usage, good handle on the english vocabulary, you must be one of those highly inteligent and enlightened folks I am always hearing so much about.

Or a vaine attempt to make us all sit back in awe and "check out the big brain on Bret,"

WHAT MOVIE IS THAT LINE FROM IF YOU ARE SO SMART?

"Vaine"? What is that? Spanish?

His english is better than your Serb or Romanian or whatever.

Pulp Fiction.

OH those poor cows !!!

I respect where youve been in life .........glad you pulled through but the "giggeling looking at people (and cows, yes)" had me cracking up .Seems to me cows are what you really are concerned with .
BTW whats with that Pax Romana which means "the Roman peace", After the romans slaughtered and invaded countries up the wazzu they went on a hiatus from slaying people "Rome still fought a number of wars against neighbouring states and tribes, most notably the Germans and Persians"I am soooooooo confused !! Vavso

You guys are killing me. Did someone say something about posting vids of cows and serbs (and serbian cows) getting strafed?

(Patiently waiting...)

Question for Hawg drivers (or any other fighter guys out there). In the beginning of the video there's a guy low-level with the mask on, visor up, and sunglasses on. How often does one wear sunglasses with the helmet and mask?

In my limited time wearing that gear it seems like it would be more of a pain in the arse to put glasses on when you could just put the visor down.

Just wondering if that's common practice or just your average fighter jock trying to look as cool as he thinks he is. ;) (Dont' take it personally, it's just a joke from a future heavy guy.)

Most likely prescription glasses. They don't make prescription visors.

I'm betting the Serbian cows were inflatable. Just like their tanks.
