I just read Regency Air out of SNA. The cost of living there is outrageous ($95K probably won't cut it unless you commute far away) - but the weather is nice...

Run Forest Run

Regency Air is BAAAAAD news. I wouldn't work there for 150k a year. Owner David Lomakin is one of the biggest criminals in aviation. Do a little research and talk to the pilots currently there and ask how many are currently in litigation with that tool.

Stay FAR away from that place! Dave Lomakin is BAD NEWS. Regency Air has a growing reputation as a very bad place to work.

In fact a number of former employees have been sued after leaving.

That job is worth NO amount of money.

I don't think these are fair statements at all. I've know the owner of the company for over 10 years and he is a very honest, respectable person. And, I've seen the other side of the story of the pilots that "left".

To the contrary, Regency Air has a very GOOD reputation in the industry.

Here are the facts....
yes, the pay is 95k for captains and appox. 55k for FOs based on your experience. You have to sign a 1 year "non pro-rated" contract for 15k. That means if you leave on day 364, you owe them 15k. They say upgrade to captain is after 1 year, but that's based on the need of the company, and whether or not you'll sign another contract for 1 year....
The schedule is what really is bad though. 5 days off a month (that's assuming they aren't short on people). The most senior guy gets first pick, and you will most likely get up to 2 days in a row. Two weeks vacation after 1 year of employment, and that vacation you take counts towards your 5 days in a month. All other time besides those 5 days is on-call, being within 1 hour of the airport.
How does that sound for QOL?

Do you have to sign a contract for re-current?

If you are single or your spouse makes a good living from home, you can live on 95k a year.

Hi DAVEY

NO PAY DAVE, NO SHOW DAVE, or PERJURY DAVE. This man is a criminal. Anyone interested in working for this scourge please P.M. me. This coward does not even have the cajones to show up to court and sends his lawyer in to plead no contest for him. This man is a liar, a criminal, and a tool. And yes you could have devoted ten years of your life to his company and you are still bound to sign a training contract to repay your recurrency at flightsafety every six months. Piss on that hypocrytical bible thumping prick.

its not the people that run the business it is the dumb a$$es that apply for the jobs.. if no one applied, this guy would go out of business or have to loosen the ropes..
