PHOENIX — An elderly man escaped serious injury after he fell four feet while exiting a plane at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Monday afternoon.

Mesa Airlines officials said 91-year-old Robert Collins was getting off a flight from Bakersfield, Calif., when he lost his balance, fell from a jet bridge and landed on the tarmac.

Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Scott Walker said emergency workers treated Collins at the scene before he was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.

Mesa Air Group Executive Vice President Paul Foley said as far as he knew Collins did not suffer serious injuries and has since gone home.

One time I thought it would be a grad idea to level jump out of the Embraer, bad plan at 310 pounds!

NEVER AGAIN!
