767 entertainment systems

hey all, i'll be travelling in march to california from ohio, and i have the opportunity to fly on a boeing 767, through Delta, i believe (but don't hold me to that, i forget). anyways, i was wondering if any of you know what the entertainment systems are like on the U.S. domestic flights. are there personal tv screens for each seat (like in many 777's) or a few monitors hanging from the ceiling? i don't travel much, esp. not on aircraft that big, so i have no clue. but perhaps you may help me a bit. thanks!

Couldn't tell you. Any time I fly commercially, I'm talking to the hot chick sitting next to me. If that isn't an option, I sleep.

The hot chick thing works...but there's other criteria other than just being hot. For example:
Age: Under 19
Height: Under 5'6"
Weight: Less than my right leg (which is plenty)
Pulse: Yes

Things like that...stick with me, and ye shall learn.

As far as the ban, it was actually the greatest thing ever for me.

You'd be surprised what you can do in 24 hours when you aren't posting 4 times a day on here! LOL

I was able to clean, cook good meals, exercise more than usual, study for some extra written tests, learn a few systems in the Duchess and watch 9 movies (The folks at Blockbuster were so tired of me I'm sure).

Other than that, I've had to spend about 24 consecutive hours back on here now to catch up on what I've missed, but it's all good. I had it coming, so it's cool.

I flew to Amsterdam last november on a Delta 767 and it didnt have any personal video in coach. Just the big screen up front and a few screens scattered around on the celing. It sucked I had been spoiled the past few times on the British Airways 777's.

I'm assuming CLE or CVG...haven't seen many 76s at CAK...just curious

in my limited searches so far, i've only looked from CMH and CLE. i live in a town that is exactly halfway between cleveland and columbus, so CVG is kind of out of the way, though I won't remove it from consideration. i am mostly sticking to online tickets sites like orbitz to find my fares. i tried splitting the trip up into smaller segments to see if it would be cheaper, and nothing looked good. i'm going to fresno, so i'll prolly fly into either LAX or SFO, rent a car, and drive the 200 miles to fresno. getting a flight into FAT is about $130 more expensive than to LAX or SFO. we'll see, though.

Delta does not have PTVs on their 767s .. not sure about the -400 model though.

The only U.S. carrier with PTVs on all planes is JetBlue.

Most U.S. carriers have ancient IFEs compared to foreign airlines.

I rode on a Unted 777 in coach and all the seats had their own screen in the back of the seat. It wasn't DirecTv like jetBlue or anything cool. Just the regular movies and stuff. It was still cool though

IFE?????? Hey bro, this is 2005 traveling on americas airlines!!!!!!! A disgruntled F/A, a seat cushion with a mystery stain, a screaming baby next to you, a leg cramp from being packed in like cattle, and a bag of peanuts if you are lucky is about all you can expect!!!!!!

If the person next to you bothered to take a shower that day is a bonus!!!!!!!

Yeah, what is up with that? A few years back (5? 6?) my family and I flew CLE to MCO for me to play in a golf tournament. Anywho it was one of the "major" airlines and man...we were treated like royalty. Food, drinks, seat selection, the whole works. Now about a month ago, I flew on the same airline, paid the same fee (yes, my family checked), and got a "due to the duration of the flight, there will be beverage service only" or something like that...(CVG to OKC).

I don't mind paying the higher price if I'm going to get good service and a product that's worth it. I do mind paying a price if I have to show up 5 hours early just to get a seat I want and end up with 4oz of carbonated beverage or juice to pacify me for 3 hours.

I guess that's it...flame away, but I had to let that out...

Delta's IFE system is like... non existant. My family flies delta all the time and they have NOTHING. Hell, even on transatlantic flights they got shiat!

Best thing to do is bring a good book or sleep.

Bring a book, bring a laptop if able and movies and games, bring snacks (pizza travels well), bring a deck of cards.

Another tip, if you can do this...and the flight is oversold in the BACK (yes, it does work), ask very nicely if they need volunteers and tell them you wouldn't mind getting bumped and put on another flight or even "up front" if it would help the gate agents out. Be overly nice to the gate agents...they have the power to put you up front if they wish to do so!

But most importantly...if traveling and you can afford it, pay for the upgrade. some of the 767's have business class, some just first class. Either way...it's not coach. On DL the cost to LA (and I'm assuming SFO) is something like $150 and for a 4.5 hour flight, it's worth it!

You could always get a job with an airline (doing Anything...ramp, gate, etc) adn get their travel benefits. Something to think about for the future!

If you're flying on Delta, you're probably flying direct to Cincinnati (CVG). Delta has several types of 767s and the movies screens depend on the model. If you are flying on a 767-300 ER, only in business class do you have the personal monitors. On the 767-300 series, they are the screens that are in the aisle (it's a dual aisle airplane). On the 767-200, there are big screens one in first class, another the beginning of coach, and then 2 other screens in the remaining part of coach.
On the 767-200, if you are seated in the 2 seats by the exit windows, you will not have a monitor and will not be able to view the movie.
If you check the website, www.delta.com, it will list the aircraft type.
