Just curious, anyone out here know when they started putting winglets on the B757?

Few months ago. Haven't you been reading the 1500 rivet counters' threads on a.net? ;)

Do a search on it over there, and you'll find plenty of mental m@sturb@tion on the subject. Apparently, Continental started recently. Gave the plane spotters something to obsess over. Don't know if anyone else is installing them.

I saw two of the 757's with winglets at EWR today...they are up and running. I must say, I like them better without the winglets though (appearance wise). Not that it really matters.

SWA has been putting winglets on their 737-700's for a long time now. COA is also putting them on their -800's, and I think Alaska is getting them as well.

In regards to the SW 737's, it's always amazing to me the size of the winglets when you get right up on them! At first glace they look just about three or four feet tall, but when you get right up to them, they dwarf a persons standing next to them!

Anyone know the dimensions of the 737 winglets?

8 feet tall +/- a few inches, as I recall
