757/Pentagon question.

I know its been talked about before, and i'm not really into conspiracy theories, but you do have to wonder, did a 757 crash into the pentagon ?... I would love to say yes but i'm not 100% sure.

This conspiracy stuff is a pretty big waste of time. But here goes, just coming from a pilot/engineer, I'm sure there are plenty of debunk sites around, not as many as for the Kennedy assasination but enough.

The hole isn't 177 feet wide because that portion of the Pentagon had already been armored/bomb proofed with explosive proof windows, etc. The reinforced building structure prevented a much higher death toll. The wings probably more or less folded back at point of impact, the fuselage/engines had most of the mass. Wings are designed to take stress up and down (lift anyone) not so much front to back. They obviously can take a good deal but apparently not enough to knock huge sections out of a reinforced/bombproof concrete building. What would have been the weak point, probably the hinge/bolts where the wing attaches to the fuselage. Just a guess, mind you.

Just another quick point. A few of the pictures make a big deal about the second ring not being damaged. Well, a 3rd grader can count. And by counting we see that the 'undamaged' ring is in fact a story shorter, seeing as the 'ground' in between the stories is actually a roof structure that was above the impact point. Simply put, count 4 windows on the outer and inner rings, and only 3 on the middle. Picture 12 is the one I'm referring to.

Anyway, life isn't neat. There will always be little inconsistencies and people with too much time on their hands and an agenda (like it was us not terrorists that did it) can come up with what appear to be convincing arguments but a little thought/investigation usually shows the conspiratist has no clothes.

p.s. anyone that believes this, I've got some "Peak Oil" books to sell you. The are on the same shelf as my "World to go Dark, Whale Oil Crisis," "The Population Time Bomb - we'll all die by 1980 due to starvation," "Global Cooling - The new Ice Age" circa the 1960s, and the current favorite "Global Warming - We're all Going to get Great Tans and it is Big Oils Fault." There is never any shortage of humans who believe the world will end soon. I believe it is called hubris (we're the smartest generation ever and we understand everything now).

The 757 disintegrated when it hit the Pentagon. Remember the videos from the 757s hitting the Twin Towers, how they went in whole and exited in a million or more pieces. You can't tell me the glass towers even with their concrete and beams are anywhere near as strong as the Pentagon.

The 757 that hit the Pentagon probably disintegrated into a million pieces like this F-4 Phantom. Also even if there are some bigger pieces, pictures can only show so much. This conspiracy theory is ridicules. Also do some research on the Pentagon. From what I have read it was strenghtened over the years to count for a Soviet attack. They called the court yard in the middle of the Pentagon, "Ground Zero", long before 9/11, because they knew the Soviets would drop a nuclear bomb in the center incase of all out war. A 757 was no match for those walls.

And what does that mean? Most people drive with their head up their ass, oblivious to the world around them. My girlfriend recently got pulled over by a cop and he told her, that he was behind her for the last 2 miles; "Didn't she see him", he says to her. Point proven! Not to mention as I have always suspected; that women are lousy drivers. But that's for another discussion.

Here's an interesting subject. There are all kinds of video cameras around the pentagon and that area for a good reason (espionage and other garbage). Very little of that footage if any has been released. I have no doubt there are individuals (Terrorists) seen watching the crash pre and post time period. Also it would give you a better view of the crash.

With that however, I do not believe in a conspiracy regarding the 757. Only in that some of the video footage was probably covered up.

I've seen the video of the 757 crashing into the Pentagon and the conspiracist say it doesn't look like a plane but a missile. From the closeness and speed of the "plane" you can't really tell what exactly it is.

Alright genius, tell us what happened to the airplane? It couldn't just disappear into thin air. Oh wait, I know! It must have been beamed aboard the mother ship by the space aliens!!! Or maybe the government hijacked it and put it out at Area 51 with the alien bodies and spaceship!!!

There's nothing I hate more than idiotic conspiracy theories. Get over it people. JFK was killed with a single bullet from Lee Harvey Oswald, there are no UFOs or space aliens, and a 757 did indeed hit the Pentagon.

This rumor comes around ever so often. We debunked it here on more than one occasion. Run a search and I'm sure you'll find more than enough info to prove the "it wasn't a 757" quite wrong. I'd search myself, but then you wouldn't get the pleasure of finding out for yourself. I will give you one hint though, IIRC, the first data to put forth this rumor was a short film sponsored by a certain middle eastern government.
