Passing through Middletown,PA not to long ago and saw a 747 sticking out of a hangar. Anyone know the story on that? Looked like it was having some heavy work done.

I asked a controller about five months back while I was taxiing out (that's how long it's been there!) and he said it was privately owned and being converted for personel use. When I asked who owned it, he said he couldn't comment. Either he doesn't know and wants to be mysterious or it's a big secret.
