Just a thought...

Dude,

I think that's the old Hong Kong runway....you know, the one with the 'Hong Kong curve' of lights? Seen pics of more than a few engine nacelle scrapes out there.

Thank you. **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** man that windsock looked weak for that wild a landing. I had a 23knot X wind component in a 172RG the other day practicing from the right seat; and they were much prettier than that. Aren’t there windsocks for different wind velocities though?

That pilot has all balls, no brains... I mean sheesh! landing on the displaced threshold! How dare he! :D
It's not good when your passengers can see the runway better than you!

From TEXAN:

Yes there are. In Wyoming, they hang chains from poles. I'm sure they do in parts of Texas too.;)

That windsock maybe weak but it's showing a quartering tail wind. if you look carefully you'll notice that he's landing the wrong way.
I don't know about you but any kind of tail wind in a jet of any size is not easy to land in. there might have been windshear which killed the wind at 200ft.
I give him kudos on the smooth landing considering it IS a 747

Pretty awful if you ask me. Go to www.airliners.net and look for landings into Kai Tak airport, Hong Kong. You will see some sh@t, which will make you go: "WTF was he thinking?" Asian carriers, in particular KAL, seems to be the worst, perhaps due to the whole face loss thing.
