Now is this just an illusion of using the full length of the runway due to a wide-lens camera angle (or large zoom, i dunno), or is this 747 really using every last drop of gatwick runway? Me thinks it's the first option...

That looks about right...He is already airborne, look at the angle of wing-gear trucks.

Sometime ya use all the runway, then some..Hot 'n high 'n heavy will do it.

Looks good to me. Pass S1 and you just keep going until 1000 ft left and get that nose in the air.

In ATL the World DC-10's often use ALL of 27R, which is the 11,000 foot runway. From the employees parking lot they look like the ran off the end...

Back when 727s were more common here at FLL they also seemed to use up every last inch of the runway in the summer.
