Get some 747-400 procedures manuals, plan a route with a real HI chart along with SIDS and STARS, and program the FMC with some realistic loads and fuels and there is absolutly NO difference in what the real airplane flys like.

I would have to agree with Bjammin, great intro tool for the 744, and it does come with 175+ page manual. One might consider Mike Ray's 744 checkride guide as well.

We usually only change the cost index lower if way early or higher if a bunch of PAX are going to miss connections or an airport curfew.
