On the overhead panel why are the fuel control panel-lower, ac electrical power panel, hydraulic control panel, and air conditioning/pneumatics control panel painted a different color? Light grey over a grey?

Thanks for your help...I can't seem to find the answer on my own

Maybe less specific: "panels you'll deal with in SE ops."

Another answer I have heard is that these were the panels the FE was responsible for back when a FE was a required crew member.

I always heard that it was a system that could be split or joined together.

The variety of answers goes to show how questions like this serve no purpose, except to make the person asking them feel intelligent.

This is the answer they are looking for .

Although all the other answers are why I come on FI. Lots of funny stuff. :)

Thanks...I figured I would get several answers...and yes I agree...has nothing to do with my knowledge....rather how "smart" the examiner wants to demonstrate...non-the-less gotta get along to go along...

The lighter colored panels are the ones Boeing had lying around in a parts bin from another attempt. They don't call them 'Lazy Boeing' for nothing.

Some of the panels are different colored... Only took me 4,000 hours in type to notice that...not bad. ;)
