AttN 727 Drivers
I just got a used a TELEX 5 X 5 PRO III SINGLE RECEIVER HEADSET to use on the 727. When I was an fe, I used the Telex PEV77 (with the coiled wire), so I already have the moulded earpiece. However, the plug on my old PEV77 appears larger than my new 5x5pro plug. My new telex only has one plug, like my old PEV77 had. Also, since it's a single plug headset, will it just plug into the aircraft without any adapters? Thanks for the help.

I think you may be SOL on the plug part if its different than your old one. I beleive all the jacks are the same on the 72 regardless of what seat your in. As a matter of fact the audio boxes are interchangable.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. The person I received my telex from flies the MD80, and that person said that the aircraft had a special recepticle where you could simply plug in only one plug and get sound and mic both. I think it was referred to as a single boom plug or something like that. There has to be some other 727 pilots out there that wear headsets that might know.

Thanks, nosewheel for your help. Sol R.
