When I was but a wee lad, my aunt brought me a model from overseas somewhere. It was a diecast metal Pan Am 707, with (in retrospect) the most incredible level of detail I've ever encountered. The landing gear were super-detailed and retractable. In fact, the main gear doors opened and closed independantly from the gear themselves; you could open the doors, pull the gear down, then close the doors behind them, just like the real thing!
Now this wes twenty years ago or more. That model has long since disappeared into the netherworld of childhood. Numerous internet searches for a model like this have scored a perfect zero. My parents don't remember anything about it, and my aunt died about five years ago.
Has anyone out there ever heard of a model like this? I'd love to find one again!
