Q1. Does MDA have a retirement plan?
A1. Yes, it is a Defined Contribution 401k.
Q2. If I go to MDA, do I have to take early retirement at ALG?
A2. No.
Q3. Do I give up my PDT defined benefit retirement if I move to Mid Atlantic?
A3. Mid Atlantic has no defined benefit program.
Q4. What about the social security bridge?
A4. The social security bridge does not apply at MDA.
Q5. What kind of matching 401K funds does MDA have?

Q6. How much vacation time will I be entitled to? What is MDAs vacation
policy? Will it be my combined Piedmont/MDA time to determine how
much I receive?
A6. Vacation time will accrue based upon combined years of PWO and
MDA service and days will be credited o n December 31 for use in
the following year.

Q7. How will vacation be bid?
A7. The following year’s vacation schedule will be posted by October 1
and vacation bids will be completed by November 15
th and awarded
no later than November 22
nd. Vacation periods consist of seven-day
blocks beginning on Saturday and ending on Friday. Bids will be
based on status they will occupy on January 1
st.
At their discretion, pilots may bid all, some or none of their accrued
vacation during the Annual Vacation Bid.

b. Pilots who have completed four (4) calendar years with the
Company, may carryover up to two vacation blocks of
unused vacation to the subsequent year.
c. Selection of available vacation block(s) or carryover block(s)
must be made within five (5) days after the award of
vacations on or before November 22. Thereafter, eligible
pilots who fail to bid will be assumed to have elected to
carryover up to two (2) vacation blocks; and any additional
vacation time will be assigned by the Company.

Q9. Will all benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, etc.) be available from our
first day with Mid-Atlantic?
A9. Yes. PWO pilots are eligible for participation after completing 6
months of combined service with a PWO and MidAtlantic Airways.
Contract Questions
Q10. Where can comprehensive information be gathered about the contractual
work rules and plans for MA? Is there a functioning CBA at this time?
When is one expected to be in place?
A10. Wages, benefits and work rules will match the AA Eagle pilots’
agreement, (except that the following provisions of the Agreement,
as amended by the Restructuring Agreement and Letter of
Agreement 84, will apply: Sections 1, 19, 20, 21, 25, and 29, and
the Accelerated Arbitration of Selected Cases Letter of Agreement),
beginning with the AA Eagle wage rates in effect on January 1,
2003. The integration of the mainline sections has not yet been
finalized.
Q11. Is there a seat lock for first officers at MDA, that is, if you are selected for
first officer training, and later on might be able to hold a MDA captain
position, are you allowed to upgrade?
A11. A first officer may bid for and be awarded a vacancy in a higher
paying or lateral bid status. However, they may be subject to a hold
in their current position based upon the needs of the operation. In
addition, all first officers meeting the minimum requirements of
Section 24 and who have completed two (2) years of service will be
required to exercise their seniority to bid a captain bid status at their
domicile in order of seniority and satisfy the necessary
requirements to upgrade, except that a first officer may defer an
upgrade attempt to captain for up to thirty-six (36) months from the
date he would have been required to bid a captain vacancy.

Q13. What are the general scheduling rules?
A13. Mainline Section 25
Q14. Duty hours?
A14. The applicable flight and duty time limitations will be those
specified in Part 121 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Duty time
will be scheduled for no more than fourteen (14) hours per duty
period; however, a scheduled duty period may exceed this
limitation with the concurrence of the Scheduling Committee.
Compensation
Q15. What is the guaranteed hours per month for reserve lines and regular
lines?
A15. A pilot awarded a Primary or Secondary bid line who is available for
duty for a full month will be paid flight pay at the applicable hourly
rate for a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours. A reserve pilot who is
available for duty for a full month will be guaranteed a minimum of
seventy-five (75) hours of flight pay at the applicable hourly rate.
Q16. Is there a cap for total hours per month?
A16. The applicable flight and duty time limitations will be those specified
in Part 121 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. This is currently
100 block hours per month or 1,000 block hours per year. There is
no pay hour cap.
Q17. What is the pay scale for me to go to MDA? Will I be a first year salary, or
my combined MDA CEL seniority scale?

Q18. Is there cancellation pay?
A18. A pilot who is available for duty for a full month and is awarded a
Primary or Secondary bid line will be guaranteed ninety-six percent
(96%) of the scheduled flight hours awarded on his final bid line
award,
a. Including:
(1) any awarded open time (OT),
(2) any time added due to reassignment or rescheduling,
(3) any junior manning assignment (JM).
b. Deducting:
(1) a trip trade of less flight time value than the pilot’s
original trip,
(2) any trip sequence drops, or portions thereof,
(3) any trip(s) missed due to illness or non-occupational
injury where the pilo t has no accrued paid sick time
available,
(4) any missed assignments (MA),

(5) any flight canceled due to a Captain’s rejection of an
aircraft for a deferrable MEL item.
