For those who have worked either or both, which would you prefer? Can netjets or other fracs do pref bidding like the way the airlines do?

The fractional world is not conducive to a pref bidding system due a constantly changing schedule. Owner demands are continuously being taken, some on very short notice. Therefore there is no way to pre-publish any trips. I suppose you could put out blocks of "on-duty" days to bid on, but that is about the only way I see that it could be worked, not a true "pref bid" system.

I flew for a regional for about 4 years before coming to NetJets and I'll say that I really like the 7/7 schedule. 7 days on the road tends to go by without too much difficulty and the payoff of having a week off every other week is very nice. I like that better than getting smaller blocks of time off. Plus, a vacation week turns out to be much more than a week off.

I agree..I am looking forward to 7 on 7 off. I did the bidding with my last airline for 8 years and I never had a lot of time at home unless it was a vacation. This way you can plan a life a bit easier!

Huh?

Don't you have hobbies? Friends? Things you might like to do on those other six days other than work?

yeah a week off really sucks. WTF?

I don't ever only need 1 day. I need the whole week to be with family friends and stuff.

How is life at home with your family? I know 7 days at home is nice, but 7 days gone at one time is a long time away. I do four on 3 off, right now. I love the idea of 7 days off, and I'm ready to jump on board, but my wife is wanting me to ask the NetJet guys and gals how there family does with the 7 days gone. I'm thinking of this as a career move and forget about SW, or UPS ect. which I have contacts with, I just need 500 more hours of PIC. I'm logging about 80 hours a month of turbine PIC. I have talked with some of ya'll on the road and all of ya'll seem to love working for NetJets.

I have recieved the NetJets app, I just want to fill it out when I know if I'm going to give up on the whole major airline thing. Ya'lls advise please.

My wife is gone 14 to 18 days a trip. So my 7 days isn't that bad. :)
