I'll split the $500 bucks with you if you get hired! Check it out:

Dear Colleague, Effective today, employees can earn an extra $500 simply for referring others to American Eagle. The People Department is reintroducing the Employee Referral Bonus Program for all active Eagle and Executive employees on U.S. payroll. All you have to do is refer someone for a Pilot or an A&P Mechanic position at American Eagle, and upon successful completion of their training, the $500 is yours.
This is how it works:
Referral Process
  1. Click on the "Employee Referral" link on the upper right side of the Jetnet home page.
  2. Fill out the form with your name and employee number, along with the name and e-mail address of the person you are referring.
  3. After the form is submitted, an e-mail will be generated to the person you are referring, inviting him or her to apply online at AmericanEagleCareers.com.
  4. A copy of this e-mail will also be sent to the People Department.
Application Process
  1. Applications entered online between November 1, 2006 and February 28, 2007 are eligible for the employee referral bonus.
The Cash
  1. The applicant you refer must be hired and successfully complete training before you will receive the bonus.
  2. The bonus will be added to your regular paycheck as a lump sum of $500.
  3. You and the referred employee must both be on active U.S. payroll when the bonus is issued, in order for you to receive the money.
The best part - there is no limit to the number of Pilots or A&P Mechanics you can refer, or the number of bonuses you qualify for. You need to act fast because the Employee Referral Program only runs until February 28, 2007.
If you have any questions please contact your People Department representative or e-mail [email protected]. I hope you take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to your referrals. Sincerely,
Denise Lynn
Vice President - People Department

I'll give you $300 of the $500!

I'm kidding

I applied at Eagle 2 years ago. I got an interview offer after about a month but didn't go because I was already in training at my first choice regional. Just a couple weeks ago they sent me the interview offer again.

Comair has the same deal. I think they would be better giving the money to the new employees as a signing bonus. I'm sure that the schedulers, ramp, and gate agents could use the money (not that I couldn't, but you know what I mean).

I'm looking at applying at Eagle. Any idea what the chances are of getting the EMB in BOS or LGA or is it all a crap shoot?

The last class that started 10/30 had 3 BOS EMJ slots among others. Lately just about every class has had some BOS or LGA openings. If you get the EMJ at any base you could transfer by the time you were out of initial training.

Thanks for the info. I'd like to stay in NYC but i'm guessing the commute to BOS from NYC would be an easy one?

Tell you what. Maybe if I regional airline pilot could maybe start out around 35,000 a year and go to 42-43,000 the second year. Like you know a "skilled labor" pay.

If you were awarded the EMJ as a newhire then you sould be able to transfer to LGA by the time you got out of training. If for some reason you had to commute between LGA and BOS then it would probably be the easiest out of any base. Delta, USAir and Eagle have flights just about every hour all day long.

Maybe if you had any type of command of the english language you could ask for that type of pay. But until then maybe you should think about a job at your local gas station.

Nope, the Admiral hotel.
And it's still double occupancy. I guess their not *that* desperate for pilots.

The double occupancy thing does suck, but it is only for the first three weeks, but the daily perdiem and monthly gaurntee is nice. And the FO for life thing is not really all that accurate, true that right now the upgrade times are about 7-8 years, but with AA starting the recall, and eagle projected to lose 70 captains due to the recall and the 35-40 per month attrition rate hopefully we will see these times drastically drop, and they sould drop to something more reasonable. If that does happen Eagle will be the best place to work at as far as regionals go.
At least for me when looking for a job, I look at more of what the companys future looks like rather then where they are at right now. And if nothing else at least it is very, very stable, and I dont have to worry if I will be able to feed my family the following month, like you would working at a place where any of the majors could pull out of their contract and put you out on the street.

losing 70 captains???? aren't there 400+ flowbacks at eagle.
The first round of 300 callbacks are going to consist of 70 flowbacks, that is just what is scheduled now, and I am sure that there will be more to come after that, but just getting the process moving is what we need.

That is what I suspected. Sure would be nice to stay in NY. Now all I need to do is get and pass that interview! Looks like one of the harder ones out there according to aviationinterviews.com Thanks again for the info. Its very much appreciated.

yeah---you camp in a tent where it used to stand before being buldozed more than 2 years ago.

As Sen John Kerry said " Parents teach your children well and make sure they go to college or they will end up at Eagle" LOL
