I am much more a fan of the Ram mount with a solid metal radiator clamp. The Radiator clamp can be adapted to the Flight Flix mount also. The Ram 1" ball is very solid in this mount

I don't much care to collect evidence of my own activities. There are more than enough smart phone video and security cameras out there already.

Cameras might be useful in the flight test regime for control deflection, tuft testing, and recording instrument indication.
