Booked flights to see my girlfriend last minute last night, and I have a 35 minute connection in Dallas Ft Worth changing from a CR7 coming from Denver to a CR2 going to Houston. I know the CR7s always tend to use the main gates on E right around where the tunnel is to get to the satellite E concourse for the majority of the CR2s. Just wondering how screwed I might be though since Ive never cut it this close before. I plan on hauling major @$$. Im wondering if it would be worth mentioning to Delta in DFW that Im there once I get off my flight so they dont think Im not showing up for the connecting flight?

Also, Ive never flown through Houston/IAH before, how long will it take to get from a Delta gate (arriving on a CR2) to the B concourse to where the ExpressJet flights are (flying IAH-Brownsville Texas). I have 1 hr 10mins there so Im not worried, but any input on the fastest way to get there would be appreciated.

Also, if any Xjet guys know of anything I should see/do in the Brownsville/Harlingen area let me know. I know Schlitterbaun is already for sure on the list for one day. That and meeting the future in laws for the first time......

that is kinda close, i usually try my hardest to give about a 1+ hr between flights
hope you make it!

Also at IAH, im pretty sure the delta gate is the A terminal...I flew out on delta and i left out of the A terminal. But going to the B terminal is easy, you can just get on the inter-terminal train, and it will take you about 15mins to get to the B terminal. Just make sure you get on the right train...

but 35mins is cutting it close

Since you are on Delta, I'll say yes. Going from through the tunnel shouldn't take that long. Try to get a seat up front going to DFW so you won't be in the "stand up and wait" crowd in the back.

HRL - Why go play in human stew at the waterpark when you can go to South Padre? We also used to go to a resturant called the Drive In in Matamoros.

Have fun and get you some. Better tell the inlaws something other than you are a pilot.

We'll be on SPI a lot of the time, but she lives right south of HRL so thats why Im booking a hotel as close to her as I can. Should be a fun trip, havent seen the gf in 4 months so we have a lot of catching up to do even though we talk every night for 5 hrs.

Plan on 10 min to get from gate to gate plus the time it takes to get off the plane. Some 70s do park at the satellite and many 50s park in the main terminal. 800-221-1212 will give you an idea on the gates. E23-E30 are at the satellite.

Thanks for the replys. Im praying that it arrives in on the satellite E terminal, but if not that flights been getting early by 20-30 mins, so i should have enough time.

But worries shifted, Ill be proposing to my girlfriend, and Ill be meeting my future in laws for the first time. All of the sudden a 35 minute connection time seems like such a minor detail lol.

jesus denverdude you are a trip. i don't know if your posts are for real, but they crack me up.

thanks for the laughs dude

Not a problem General. These posts are ineed for real, and if you think I make everyone here crack up you should hear my gf after putting up with 5 minutes of me

Just a quick update,

The trip was great, made the connection in 5 minutes. My thanks to ASA/Expressjet/Delta Mainline/Skywest crews for being so friendly.

I did propose to my girlfriend and she did say yes without even hesitating. Engaged 2 days before our 9 month anniversary which was Saturday.

Meeting the in laws for the first time also went very well, her dad likes me a lot as does her mom. He took us all to Mexico and we ate at some really fancy restaurant, all went well. It was nice to see the Border Patrol doing their job for once as well.

Overall great trip cant wait to get back down there in October, hopefully without 3 flts each way.
