I gave my current (nonaviation) employer notice this afternoon. I have 650 TT/200ME and Ive been getting all my ducks in a row~1st class medical, FCC license, ATP written, copy of transcripts..yadda yadda yadda. Even shined a pair of shoes and relearned how to tie a tie.

Next week I'm going to drain the bank account and go windmill some props, shoot some approaches and try and catch a whiff of kerosene blowing past the ramp. Then I'm applying for an FO slot at the fine regionals we all love so dearly.

Since I currently have employer provided housing, if I'm not hired I'll get to live in my truck for a while hunting for a good flight school to hang my hat at. Its a big gamble and honestly I'm a bit nervous. At the same time I'll never know unless I try and i'm tired of lurking here on the board and not having anything worthy to add!

Its premature but thanks to everyone here. I promise if you're my CA I won't be a tool, just a noob!

Good luck. . . Sometimes I want to quit my job at the fine regional I work at and find a normal 9 to 5 job.

Too bad I can't find anything that pays even close to what I make flying.

You paid $10 to make that your first post? You need to quit drinking.

What is your current job?? I may want to apply for THAT position??

Whats a "Noob"?

I say go for it!

"you cut yourself shaving"?

Everything sounds good except for the "living in the truck" part. You are kidding, right?

Best of luck.

Barring any peculiar circumstances, you should be able to land a regional FO job.

Well you've got one thing down for sure, how to sound like a h0m0 right off the bat. You should fit in just about any where. You used windmill some props, kerosene and whiff all in one great sentence. In the next post, try using godspeed, you sir, and rediculuos (misspelled of course) and you'll have it down. Oh, and don't forget to throw out "props are for boats", that makes you sound like a tried and true grassroots aviator.

Instruct for a while......

You should go ahead and move out of the company housing and just get used to living in the truck. It'll be all you can afford for the next few years.

A guaranteed regional job is not even a good enough reason to quit a real job... and here you are quitting without ANYTHING to fall back on.

For the love of everything holy, WHY
