Speaking of priceline. Has anyone ever bought airlines tickets from the site? Just wondering what kind of price you got. I mean could you but 20 dollars for a roundtrip ticket and get it maybe?

I came close a long time ago but as I recall (may be wrong) you HAD to accept whatever they sold you within the limitations your request. Realizing that to get the lowest price I was going to have to request every available sorry option I didn't press "purchase." I was afraid that I would get from Atlanta to Memphis something like...

Depart McCollum 3:30 a.m.

You will ride in the back of a cessna 172 with a corpse on the right side of the aircraft.

Arrive Charlotte 5:30 a.m.

Layover at the hide a bug motel for 7 hours.

Depart Charlotte 3:00 p.m.

You will be whisked away via Bob's Air Taxi in his recently remodeled Piper Tomahawk.

Arrive St. Louis 9:00 p.m. after a fuel stop wherever Bob decides to put her down.

You will stay in the smoking lounge of the St. Louis airport complete with complimentary Sunny Delight.

Depart St. Louis 4:00 a.m. via Fed Ex Caravan. You will ride in the belly cargo container along with 25 house painters. Complimentary flatulence filter included with your tickets!

$27.50 will now be deducted from your bank account.

Have a nice trip!

Priceline is not nearly that bad. You can get some pretty good fares there. However, the problem comes in when your flight is cancelled b/c of weather of maintenence. If you have a regular ticket bought through reservations, you can be put on another airline and be on your way. If you have a priceline ticket, you're screwed. You have to fly on that airline only and sometimes, that flight only. That means that if you don't make your 6 a. m. flight, you might not be going anywhere until 6 a.m. the next day.

I used priceline about a year ago. I had to go to recurrent at SF DFW and because of the short notice the cheapest flight I could get was $1,200. Now being a good company man I decided to look for something cheaper, I could either drive a couple of hours and take SWA to DAL, or Priceline.

Well Priceline accepted my bid for $260 and I had a very nice flight on United to DFW with only 1 stop, both flights left around 8AM. I was pretty happy with the service.
