Thank you b350capt., the award for most enlightening answer goes to....YOU!

lol...maybe for the long answer...heres the short version.

...with training records and a current .293/.297 you would be hard pressed to find a company who would not accept it.

...the .299 however is a line check particular to that company and their people/routes/procedures/etc ;)

Again, depends on the POI who approved the company program, some FSDOs will accept the 293/297 but not the prior aircraft training (must do recurrent with company specific training, usually at a 142 school, in effect requiring a new 293/297), or will require in-house training also known as the "4 & 4". (not many do this, but if you do see it, don't be suprised). Again, the Chief Pilot should know how to navigate past most of these hiccups, but sometimes you get a crazy POI who makes you look like an idiot (unless you want to go to Region and complain).

Don't mean to get long-winded, but want to make sure you know that it is not always the company's decision, but to understand some of the behind-the-scenes junk that goes into how a certificate holder operates. Safe flying all!

oh dont get me wrong...you have good points, i was just breaking it down :)

i agree, its up to the POi...but again, ive worked for companies from coast to coast and have yet to have aircraft specific training be ignored. show up at the new company with previous training records and current 8410 in hand, hop in airplane with fed, complete a .299 and that was it every time ;)

...but its true, there are some "crazies" out there that insist upon improving upon the standard, for whatever reason

haha, yes. Pray none of you end up in the LGB FSDO if you're in any sort of ops control position....one legendary crazy there!! ;)
