I was listening to Columbus approach and they keep telling pilots that the first 1800' of 28L are not available, but the remaining 8450' or so are ok. They say that will be this way for 6 months. What are they doing to 28L? Anyone know?

Construction, not sure if they are lengthening or resurfacing. It's been going on at least 6 months already and will be going on for at least another 6.

Didn't they have a chunk of 10R (approach end) closed last year because of construction? I think the GS was out of service for a long time during that mess.

CMH and OSU are both doing repave jobs on the surfaces...i think both (not sure about cmh but i know osu is) doing their projects in phases....so i'd say it's a safe bet 6 months before you see those open again...i didn't check the NTAPS...but i'm guessing the mins for the GS for that runway at CMH is altered anyone know the details?
