ACL.....I've watched all the Cnbc clips, read everything on Deltanet and Lee's letter....I see no where any mention of the additional 20 777's....where am I missing it?

Ps: I ran all the #'s thru flightsalary.com and this makes an additional 1.7 million in career earning for me as a new hire...VERY roughly, give or take a 100K.

Watch all the clips and you will see it:

It going to be DOH with some fences.
Most likely relative seniority with probably some fences on the larger wide body!

Thank god this thing went thru. Now it's time to trim capacity and get the pricing power of tickets up.

Right on. You should probably be concerned as to what's going to happen to midwest, as their future is still uncertain. But I'm sure you'll be ok!

Yeah I'm doing just fine where I work.

I saw it in the the videos on DeltaNet that have Richard and Ed talking. It's the "Unprecedented benefits for Employees." video if you don't want to watch all of them.

delta.com also has a list (current as of Dec 2007) with a total of 39 777's on property, on order and on option. So even with the 2008-2009 planned 777 growth, that still provides existing options for 20 more, so its definately doable. Now, will they truly all be growth airframes, or will some/most end up being 747 replacements? That's the big question. Not counting the 747-200's of course. Those things are on the chopping block as much or more than the -9's are I would think.

I have yet to vote yes on any deal offered here at Delta, save the merger fund and EVERY deal to offer support for furloughed pilots. I never said anything about trust. I said trust-but-verify. Our CEO said that he was NOT brought on board to facilitate a merger. He never said that there will not be one. Our MEC has been in a position of POSTURING for awhile now. If you actually spoke to one of them, you would know that.

Will I vote in favor of LOA19? I don't know, I do not have enough information. Have you already committed to a no? Have you seen how many airlines have fallen, and have you seen where oil is headed? Your post smells suspiciously of the AA pilots demanding a 50% raise while their company is bleeding. Now if we are talking an SOS until a standard contract with a NSL list, count me in.

Reread your original post about trust! Nowhere did you say trust but verify. I speak to my reps. frequently and will definately vote no as this deal is too long and does not even keep up with inflation. The posturing by the MEC does not mean they have to lie to the pilot group. Once again we have failed to make this profession better. How would you feel if the shoe was on the other foot. Bet you would feel the same as the NWA guys. We never should have negotiated behind their backs as we are in the same UNION, or did you forget that?

Isn't this a transition agreement? This isn't a final agreement. And, how does $114 a barrel oil fit into your equation?

Bye Bye--General Lee

The agreement sets rates through 2012 which is too long. As for oil, does not change the fact that I will vote no until our pay increases outpace inflation. We never should have negotiated with management behind the backs of our union brothers. Once again, we are our own worst enemy and the NWA guys are justifiably pissed off as I would be if I was in their shoes.
