You are so wrong! USAPA has accomplished more than ALPA ever has! USAPA is a union by pilots for pilots, unlike Herndon who steals from pilots and delivers nothing.
Ha ha, union by pilots for pilots, good one.

I'm sure that WN would be interested in acquiring some DCA and some additional LGA slots as well. I guess we'll see how bad US/DL want this deal to go through. It's not like we're going to be going head to head with either US or DL. Out of DCA we'd probably only fly to MDW and out of LGA we might add a flight to HOU or maybe DEN. So there's no reason for US or DL to be afraid of allowing us a few extra slots is there?:uzi:![]()

Lee, remove your self from a delta bias for a sec. With a huge foot print in JFK and a two terminal LGA monopoly...did you really expect it to be approved as is? of course not. I'm sure your exec's didn't either, now they have a position to bargain/work from. Think of it logically.
I'm all for allowing WN the opportunity to bid for some LGA and Especially some DCA slots. It won't hurt anybody. Remember, the government won't let any legacy carrier fail....
The key word is BID
Demanding parties sell slots immediately alters the competitiveness of the sale. For starters two of the most interested parties will not be involved. Secondly, the prices will be lower just on the simple fact that most will bid low knowing they have to be sold.
If they want to offer slots to AAI and LUV they need to take a slot away from each carrier and make those airlines pay top bid price plus inflation from the last bid price. Maybe they need to pay three years of lost revenue off that slot as well.
If I were Delta I would just announce that because of the decision of the Gov. We had to rethink our strategy going forward and we have decided to pull out of JFK, MEM, and CVG effective in 6 months, let all those towns get freaked out and complain to the gov in the next month to change their minds.

Yeah right! Just like you are doing in SLC now!!!!
Maybe that too, but Jet Blue is on record as wanting in to DCA. This smells of it.
I bet USAIr will announce the dropping of all the smaller cities they fly to from LGA, and see how that goes over. They already dropped the LGA crew base, too. Sen. Schumer will have to eat that.
I work for JetBlue and we barely can keep the airline flying during an irop and one thinks that we have that much pull to get someone to force Delta and USAir to give up slots to us........I do not know what you are smelling but it is not blue juice.
