I was flying an airliner tonight and over Wisconsin heard a may-day on guard. Sounded like a young guy in a 172 lost the engine some where over Wisconsin AT NIGHT!! Sounds like he put it down in a field and survived. Good Job

Any other details??

I'm not sure if this is the same accident but there was one in SE WI - it was maybe 2 miles from my house.

The pilot put it down in a field and the only damage I saw was the nose gear collapsed (from 1/2 mile away realizing there was more damage I'm sure).

Ironically the landing was near a woman that had a diabetic reaction and drove off the road and EMS was already there or enroute depending on what you read/hear.

Hell of job though
