It is part of my cover working in management you are suppose to be able to read. So I pretend to read, it fools everyone. It is obvious I can not speel. I have not gotten my copy, so I have not read the article. You got some good press for your support in Mexico.

What do you think this will mean for the 135 cargo guys if this gets passed?

-2 shifts- Day on-call and night on-call?
-More bases, more returning aircraft to bases?
-More crews?

-Less Flight Time?
-Camping out all day at the FBO waiting for a trip?
-Overnights in Juarez bc of Pt 91 end-of-day repos?

Give us the dirt PilotYip!

T-rex, it is the ultimate equation, with no simple answer. More crews to do the same amount of flying, same amount of flying ='s constant $'s, constant $'s spread among more pilots ='s less money per pilot. How do we fix that? Every time something is changed other things change that were not envisioned. Look at 91 sub part K and how the 10 hours rest has been applied. I still think 121 crew rest is the way to go.

I will not camp out at the FBO all day because I am "available". I will not do the same work for less money because we need more pilots. Overnighting in Mexico isn't so bad though, I can think of a bunch of places it the USA that suck much more then Mexico.

Answer

Wiggs, you answered the question, you are going to get out of the 135 flying and let someone else have your job. Charter rates are not going to rise because more pilots are required to do the same amount of revenue generation. BTW I do not think that 91K rules will be part of the new 135, it will be in line with the thoughts in AIN.
