I will soon be taking a 135 checkride. We are using c172's for frieght. What can I expect as far as the ride itself?

Thanks in advance.

i have no idea. the boss just said that the FSDO paperwork (year long process) is done, and to be ready for a 135 checkride soon.

Small freight/cargo in a single is really not a big deal, quite a few operators still do this present day. This should be a pretty straight forward checkride considering not a whole lot of systems to worry about in the 172. I would spend more time with regards to your ops specs, 135 fars, aim, etc, versus getting too consumed in worrying about the flight portion of the ride.

good luck,

The flight portion will most likely consist of 3 approaches, 1 precision and 2 different types of non precision approaches, maneuvars, an engine failure, etc.
Nothing difficult at all.

As previously mentioned, be sure to be up to speed on 135 regs, company op specs, 91 regs, etc.

Good Luck!

Highly unlikely the 172 is equiped for IFR, so...

VFR, Commercial PTS which includes demonstrating basic instrument skill.
headings altitude, unusual attitude.

Shouldn't be any approaches. 8410 will be equipment check, 135.293 only
no 297/299's.

It probably is equipped for IFR, but it is probably not equipped for single engine part 135 IFR.

Freight does not require the same stuff as PAX. You can get almost anything 135 freight. Ram Air flew really ragged out Cheetahs for years 135 IFR.

Under 135 freight rules you don't need autopilots or radar. Basically.....Can you figure out where your are? And can you navigate to where you want to go?

They probably are in fact certified for 135 IFR, would be nothing unusual here. Car parts, architecture drawings, film rolls, checks, bodies, etc, etc, the list can go on and on. I am sure these folks will put these 72's to work.
