135 Certificate Holder

Jet Aviation has never owned a Part 135 certificate as they are not deemed US citizens. The are 100% foreign owned and tried to obtain a new certificate with a US partner a few months ago but the FAA and DOT shot them down. They are apparently being closely watched by the FAA and are having a very difficult time meeting A008 requirements. Any foreign owned mgmt company will go the way of TAG if the FAA has their say.

New World Jet was sold to FirstFlight recently.

I'll second the JetSelect recommendation - best "Pro": great people running the show (CP, DO, Dispatchers). Worst "Con"...haven't heard anything bad really.

Just because you are in LAS means nothing. The location of your certificate holder really only matters if they don't have a "presence" in your area. An airplane based in NV, but managed out of OH, can get charter...as long as the certificate holder has the ability to get charter in your area.

JetSelect seems to get most of its biz from other 135 outfits with business nationwide.

Good Luck...the comments above about liability and "wear & tear" should be passed on to your boss. It aint worth it for a few measly $1000 greenbacks.

You might talk to Eagle Jet Aviation, right there at KLAS. They're using other leaseback and managed airplanes to do the same thing.
