A little early...
Fore!
Each day I check this thread hoping the number has magically dropped by 20 or 30 overnight!
So here we are about 8 months out from the resumption of retirements. When will the airlines begin to hire in anticipation of this? Or do they all behave like my ex employer and wait until flights are being cancelled before they scramble to put classes together?
Rumors abound that they will increase the retirement age to 67 before this December. I am hoping these rumors are false....
Ain't happenin...took 25 or so years for age 65 to happen. And I haven't heard a thing on 67... :cartman:

Pandora's Box has been opened. This is no longer an issue where pilots are at the controls. Other organizations with much more political power have been given the Captain's seat on this issue.
I'm less concerned about a change to 67 than a complete elimination of mandatory retirement age.
Could it happen before the next election? It's possible.
