Can anyone tell me what competitive times are to apply at Avantair? I'm thinking of making the leap from regional to frac and this seems like a good place to start with potential growth on the horizon. I know rumors of doom and gloom abound, but it seems like we should all know more within a couple weeks.

I live in the northeast, and have been commuting to my current job. Do new hires truly have their pick of bases? BOS would be perfect for me.

Appreciate any good info. Thanks.

4K-5K is competitive. 2500 is the posted min, but I know of one person who got hired with 2300. They also prefer previous 135/91k, glass cockpit, and/or FMS experience but it is not a requirement. If they like your resume, you'll get a call. I think BOS is a gateway city, but you can discuss that during the phone interview. The rumors of doom and gloom are greatly exaggerated - it's a pretty good place to work. We're a young company with some growing pains but it's not a sweat shop by any stretch of the imagination. I came from the regionals and I am much happier here - I'm treated much better by SOCC and management here than I was at the regionals.

Good luck!

BOS is a gateway for us. I don't know if we are currently hiring into it or not. My guess would be yes although we really need crews out west. Now is deffinitely an exciting time to be at Avantair. Things are either going to go really big, or,,, well you can probably figure it out. Me personally, I'm holding onto my hat getting ready for a wild ride. The next several weeks are going to tell a lot. My personal opinion is that Avantair is going to become a major player in the frac market. But hey, I have been wrong before

My impression is that Avantair has hit the right market niche and it can definitely grow because that price point is not being targeted effectively by the other fractionals. However, questions regarding finances, investors, etc need to be cleared up quickly. Great market, great airplanes - now just take care of the back end and ensure finances and a solid infrastructure (processes, training, scheduling, etc.) are in place. Easier said than done I guess...

Listened in on the conference call last night. The new investment company has dumped $37M into Avantair. Any and all financial issues that have concerned us over the summer are gone. We have 3 Avanti II's on property now and they will enter service this weekend and we are expecting to have 15 in service by next June. The delivery schedule will be based on Piaggio's ability to deliver on schedule (SS believes that they are on track for that schedule). I believe we have a good infrastructure. Training and scheduling are good and training will only get better when the Avanti sim at FSI is certified by the FAA. I believe we have a bright future here and I'm glad to be a part of it!
