GO DISCOVERY! What great camera angles from the main tank looking back at Discovery!

2000Flyer

What an incredible view looking down the main fuel tank. It was incredible how smoothly the jetison seemed. Just incredible!

i saw the liftoff from my backyard. i could even hear it. i noticed the "chemtrails" from 2 airliners that probably got a pretty darn good view. it was amazing. when it first popped up over the horizon, it looked like it was barely moving. then it just got faster and faster, until it disappeared into the atmosphere. it was only 3 or 4 minutes and they were already 60 miles above the earth, according to the radio. that.... was.... awesome!

Heard near central Florida:

Daytona Approach, Discovery 1 out of 3 for 5.
Discovery 1, Daytona Approach roger.
.......
Uhh, Discovery 1 looking for higher....

And knowing Daytona approach, it would then go:
Disco 1, turn left around to 180, decend and maintain 2000, when reaching, turn right to 270, contact Orlando approach for higher.

The Shuttle launched today? How can we be sure the shuttle really launched and they are trying to pull another fast one over us like they did telling us they landed on the moon?

here we go! :)

Yeah, the fuel tank shot was cool. Can't wait till we see the shots from the docking with the space station.

flychick, your avatar.... was that from today's launch?

Cforst, yes, it is. Incredible sight. SRBs lit, smoke clouds on the ground, shuttle lift-off, watching it go behind a cloud and re-emerge, sound about 30-45 seconds later.
