    US Airways IVR Jumpseat

I couldn't imagine driving to the airport, going through the shuttle bus, TSA, and walking to the gate to find out what I could've know 4 days prior. Not to mention that if you lived near a couple airports, you could've taken the other but you can't now because you've already overcommitted on...

How about that AF O6 that recently just got canned for an email from nearly 7 yrs ago? There may be more to it, but still kinda nuts.

    The Greatest Generation

Today was a regular day out in town running a couple of errands in the morning when I bumped into a gentleman in an electronics store. He was moving slowly with a cane and wearing a flight jacket, but nothing eccentric. Quietly the very elderly man shopped the display of new tablets until he...

Talked with a guy today who said he got an invite today. Hope that helps. I'm sure there are plenty others to be made.

U.S. government, two airlines say open to settling merger fight

So wasn't a decision supposedly due today for whether the DOJ has to cough up some docs? Can't find anything online as of now. I know there's a status hearing tomorrow with the judge for the trial.

    US Airways Calls

Nice job on getting an invite cfi_greg over the weekend. Anyone know if they're interviewing non-stop every week M-F or if it's a Tues-Thurs type schedule? Do they interview every week of the month or do they take a pause? Do they have a hiring board or something at the end of every month...

Days off per month at ATLAS

I did a re-read to include specifically pgs 208 and 558 on the APC thread that talks about all this. I'm just trying to clarify or confirm basically whether the Gateway Travel is inclusive or exclusive of the "17" days. Additionally if they split your pairings how that affects commute time on...

Days off per month at ATLAS

So when you are in "Gateway Travel", and say you're going from Gateway City XYZ to ANC, is that travel time included in your pairing or is that on your own time if ANC is your base? Say ANC is your base and they gateway travel you from XYZ to some other city, is that commute/travel done on part...

    destruction of unions

I'm just wondering if these few guys are breaking the bank or if the author has another agenda. There needs to be more review to see if they indeed make "too much". I know personally as much as I love the Irvine, Newport Beach area, I would never live there if I couldn't afford a small abode to...

    destruction of unions

Kinda interesting that your "excessive pension" example relates to your law enforcement pension which typically is much higher than the average worker for obvious reasons. I have abosolutely no problem with my emergency repsonders making a liveable salary. The problem is they don't really and...

    Master's Degree

As far as costs, has your employer indicated that they would help? Heck my brother-in-law who is a firefighter gets $1,200/yr for school and his degree isn't even needed. I think ERAU online is costing around $1,500 a class now and it probably takes about 11/12 classes to finish. Don't know...
