No, Allegiant Teamsters is still bound by the TRO the NMB has nothing to do with that.....they were merely saying their spokesperson who said we couldn't strike was misquoted. The NMB doesn't get inolved 'till they decide on the release from negotiations proffer.
If you believe what you read on pprune you would never get into expat flying in fact you would never get into flying period and you would never even leave home 'cause every job is a scam they are all crooked they don't pay anywhere near enough or what they say they will the medicals and sim...
Well the primary reason to stick with Allegiant was QOL/schedules now even that has gone down the $h!tter with the advent of HAL so I suspect even captains will start looking at Spirit jetBlue Vigin in addition to the legacies of course. The question is how many/ how fast.
And I wish them the best of luck! It's still devilishly hard to get an airline job, that's all I'm saying. Even for well-qualified folks like MD80 Captains....
This is how a friend describes Allegiant: You are hired by Reserve Allegiant, to plug whatever hole caused by seasonal variations in flying, lack of foresight in hiring, simulator breakdowns, or other temporary crisis. Your life may not be your own for some time although it helps greatly if you...
Not just luck but Smashingly well played. They've just about done it. 10 years ago these guys were carrying their flight bags home with them so they could keep them when the place shut down & they padlocked the crew room. 17 yr. guys on the street. And they have managed not only to survive...
I think estimates of attrition are overblown. Yeah almost everyone's looking but at the same 3 airlines (ok, plus maybe Alaska if you have a Silver Bullet and SW if you don't mind a 15-year upgrade) along with 15,000 other apps.
Could take a few years to score an interview unless you know...
It's written in the award.....United "troubled" but not a chronic loser about to liquidate like usair was.....not like some previous mergers of unequals with one much weaker party (gee I wonder who they're referring to....)
Anything's possible of course.
Allegiant doesn't do hubs, certainly not against United. It would be a gigantic philosophical paradigm shift for them to consider such a transaction.
A merger with Airways would be a disaster. Merge with a LCC, bring their costs up to Airways' astronomically high level rendering them unompetitive in their home turf. Been tried 3 times already. DOJ would kill it anyway.
