As a former Coastie Herc Driver myself I would like to congratulate you on getting hired. Good luck with the new career. You won't miss ready crew for very long. And the meals are better too.

Profile,
Well put. However we did not give up so easily on the MD-11 IRO issue. We voted down the Tentative Agreement. And the company went ahead and starting using Captains as IRO's on the aircraft which is well within their right to do. We have the option to take it to arbitration but I...
Ok I will add a few comments to the thread. However take it with a grain of salt as I have been with big brown for only 15 months.
First off we have no post retirement medical plan. Something we want to address in the upcoming negotiations.
We too have an A and a B plan. The A plan is poor...
Furlough and UPS are rarely used in the same sentence. Things are great here at Brown Tail Air and look to get even better next year thanks to huge profits and United and Delta's recent contracts.
Hopefully my brothers and sisters at American have similar success in their contract negotiations...
I have heard that most likely we won't hire for the remainder of this year. I have heard similar rumors of hiring for next year. But the whisper number I heard was 350. So who knows.
We are taking delivery of around 19 aircraft next year (tentatively) but things can change. We are...
From what I am hearing, they are planning on parking anywhere from 4-9 747's in the next year. I think they are pretty good on the DC-8. I have several friends on that AC sitting reserve and they get called but not every day. They could possibly use a few on that airplane I would imagine...
That Flight Time Summary sheet you received is a good sign. That means they have sifted through the 10-20,000 profiles on file and think you might be worthy of an interview.
What you need to do is to continue updating your online profile. Keep you flight times current as well as you address...
They just extended the date of the bid closure till the 21st. Only rumor I heard on hiring was if economy picks up then we may hire up to 200 this year. If it doesn't then we won't hire at all.
We will need a lot of people in 2003 it looks like (unless they cancel the upcoming aircraft...
Talked to a friend who has a crash pad buddy who during recurrent training this week spoke to the head HR guy at the Training Center in Louisville. He said that there are currently 250 people in the hiring pool and we continue to interview. He also said they just waiting for the word from...
Alright so they get to wear leather jackets, no hat and fly around in purple airplanes. Does that make them better? Maybe they don't wear hats because most of their new hires are over 40 and losing their hair and the hat will cause substantial hair loss?
As far as the retirement goes I...
Unless are close friends with "Someone in the Know" (i.e. Management, Instructor, etc.) the only way to be considered is to attach your resume to your online profile.
Make sure that it is Left Justified. That way it looks nneater when HR looks at it.
Good Luck.
UPS is interviewing again...
I am not 100% sure how they hire from the pool. When I was hired there was no pool. I believe you are placed in the pool by how weel you did in the interview and when you are available. I know for a fact that it is not a first in - first out deal.
Hope this helps
I guess there has been some activity here at UPS this week. They did some interviewing and from what I understand there are 5 days in February that are tentatively scheduled for interviewing as well. I heard there may be a class in March. But most of the indications are we are PROBABLY going...
It is usually paramount that you know someone on the inside to get the nod for a UPS Interview. Letters of Recommendation from current UPS pilots are almost a must. And even better yet if you can get a LOR from a Management person who is not a UPS pilot you may even have a better chance yet...
