Wow...
You guys are way too smart to be pilots!
Maybe you all should go in to management...
Route planning, marketing and yield management... it's all so simple. Put the airplanes anywhere and they will make money!!
Robin Hayes would love to hear your "pearls of wisdom"!!!
VP of Flight Ops stated that 60-80 pilots would need to be hired ASAP to get us through the proposed December schedule (actually, the last two weeks of December).
Executive Team doesn't want to hire... trying to keep costs down for the Fiscal Year and prop up stock price.
If they don't...
Yea... I was thinking the same thing....
There are a lot of women out there that would be capable of pulling that off. Hopefully the truth will be found out quickly. If the guy needs some help, then maybe she did him a favor.
Closed runway vs a not in use runway
The previous poster made an excellent point.
My suggestion would be...
ATC: We are landing 22L ... 31R not available.
Flight Crew: We require 31R for operational necessity. Are you stating that 31R is closed?
ATC: 31R is not closed but current...
Sounds like most of you guys don't truly understand an interline agreement.
It's practically an industry standard offering between airlines. Jetblue was unique that it did not offer one. Adding to the limited agreements with Aer Lingus, Cape Air and Lufthansa... this small (for now)...
Don't think you need to worry about this "rumor".
USA 3000 Pilots are Teamsters and I seriously doubt they would cross a picket line.
Their fleet is shrinking... Morale is in the toilet... Wonderboy CEO Steve Harfst is doing his best to beat down the pilot group and torpedo the airline.
Those of us who have been around for a while know that this was a huge undertaking with lots of risk for negative media coverage. The list of botched reservation switchovers is a long one.
As far as I can tell... we stayed out of the media completely.
It's a long way from being done and...
Yawn...
A low cost "refreshing" of the paint livery...
At least we're not spending millions on new paint... what with the new pilot pay rates and all.
Just waiting for the other crewmembers to blame us for getting all the extra cash.
Just landed as an AirTran 717 was cleaning up on downwind after an engine failure in MCO 17L.
Interesting to see him out there at about 1000 feet crawling up the downwind doing his checklist.
He landed a few minutes later and CFR recommended a precautionary evacuation.
Not sure if they...
Great Job Guys...
Wow... some of you JETBLUE guys are really impressing everyone here on FlightInfo with your lack of CORRECT information.
The ability to read and understand an EMAIL. I mean... you get an email about jumpseating.... take enough time to read it and understand it! This is...
Reliable sources have it that the USA3000 of today is not the USA3000 of a year ago. Mr. Steven Harfst, formerly of North American, is the brainiac in charge now. Occurrences of pilot intimidation, union busting and FAR maximum duty days are the SOP now.
Pilots having their luggage...
JetBlue pilots helping to clean the cabin is SOOOO 2004...
This is 2009 Dude..... get with the program.
Growth is practically 0. The EMBs don't break down every leg. (every third leg now). We have a new T5 in JFK and EMB pilots are making 90% of A320 pilots.
Cleaning the cabin is...
There is NO EXCUSE for these guys landing with a tower issued "microburst alert."
Not to be confused with low level windshear advisories, microburst alerts are very accurate and reliable information and a violation of company policy and therefore F.A.R. for landing.
As a guy sitting on a...
You guys really think Renslow had his "head in the game"?
If he was concerned about the ice, he would have talked about it. He would have briefed his plan for a stick shaker (wing stall) and tailplane stalls. He would have been hand flying. He would not have been jammering away about how much...
