I heard Lear Jets can outmaneuver missles.
I also heard a story of a poor African or Middle East country that tried to strap missles on a Lear and use it as a fighter jet. Anyone know if its true?
I was at FKL-Franklin County Venango Airport in Pennsylvania today and I saw US Air flies there. This airport is uncontrolled and their equipment was a Beechcraft, and the only flight was to PIT.
I asked a guy why they fly there, and he said the government subsidizes those flights so rural...
As a former DL student employee I feel bad for you guys. I enjoyed a lot of long lunches at the OCC and the traning building cafeteria talking to you guys.
I too believe that DL is giving you the short end of the stick. One one hand you read reprts of air travel back to, or close to to...
Does anyone know what are the requirements to be one is?
Are they usually helo pilots only?
Can you still be one even if you are not in the Coast Guard or ANG?
It's probably not your fault.
Most people come into pilot lessons thinking that the only thing the pilot does is steer the plane and call out "Fox 2!". Because for many people the only prior experience they have had with aviation is sitting in the back of a 737, watching "Top Gun", or watching...
I think this article appeared in "Flying" Magazine a few months back, but I can't find it.
A Comair Academy instructor gave tips on landings and stuff, and I think Bob Hoover gave some tips too.
If anyone finds it can you paste the gist of it here or give the website?
Does anyone have any...
When I worked at DL, after heavy MX they took the plane out and tested it out.
Do you know what altitude they do this?
What do they do? Spins, stalls, etc?
It's surprising to see so many flight schools based at them.
I guess that would be the best place to learn radio calls.
How do they handle the heavy traffic?
Are there any airlines that give special consideration to current (non-flying) employees when they hire pilots?
Ex. A mechanic who works at Comair and gets privitate multi-time on the weekends. Would he get a leg up during the hiring process?
Sorry, I'm in school now and won't be getting back to Ohio until May.
I didn't know if any of you fly into CLE regularly and saw something.
Anyway, I'll check the internet for phone numbers.
Does anyone know how to get part-time FBO or Airport jobs?
I would like to get one in the Cleveland area this summer.
Anything from fueling, to office work.
I don't think they hire part-timers at CLE, but do you know who hires at BKL?
